Leading cash plan provider Sovereign Health Care has appointed Brand8 PR to help support its continued growth strategy and raise awareness of its charitable trust.
The Bradford-based business chose us after a rigorous selection process which initially saw a number of local agencies evaluated before two were asked to present a pitch.
Commenting on the appointment, Helen Cowlin, marketing manager, Sovereign Health Care, said: “We have ambitious growth plans and new customer acquisition is central to it. We needed to find a PR agency that had both the commercial acumen and experience to help us increase sales of our personal and business cash plans, whilst also raising awareness of the work of our charitable trust.
“From our very first meeting, Brand8 PR demonstrated a clear understanding of our business and, in particular, the personal finance and health care sectors. Most importantly, the agency’s integrated approach to public relations and content creation was genuinely refreshing and will ensure that we communicate effectively across traditional, digital and social media.”
Sovereign Health Care aims to make everyday health care more affordable and accessible through easy-to-understand, competitively priced health cash plans for individuals and businesses.
These pay tax-free cash back towards expenses such as dental fees, optical bills and physiotherapy costs, with policyholders having claims paid within days, simply by submitting a claim form and receipts received when they made the relevant payments.
The company does not have shareholders and any surplus it makes is reinvested in the business or given by Gift Aid to the charitable trust, which distributes the money. Sovereign Health Care’s charitable trust has donated in excess of £4m to good causes over the past seven years. In 2014, it will make six tranches of donations totalling more than £500,000.
Brand8 PR agency Leeds managing director, Rob Smith, said: “Sovereign Health Care has over 140 years’ experience of helping people to afford their health care. It is a business with traditional values and products for individuals and businesses that are even more relevant today given the significant changes in health care provision.
“As a company with the same values as a mutual and a service-led ethos that also operates a charitable trust, the business has clear points of difference within its marketplace. The company successfully combines well-designed products with excellent customer service and it is our job to ensure that more people and business owners understand how working with Sovereign Health Care can benefit them.”
