Norway-headquartered TOMRA has appointed Brand8 PR to deliver a global corporate public relations strategy following a competitive pitch.
The world leader in sensor-based solutions for optimal resource productivity has a turnover of €650m (£551m) and employs about 2,600 people. Established in 1972, the company is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Approximately 87,000 of its reverse vending and sorting machines are installed globally across more than 80 countries.
We have been tasked with implementing a strategy to support the achievement of TOMRA’s business objectives. It is being delivered via a range of tactics including enhanced profile raising of key executives along with integrated media relations and content marketing activity.
Our managing director, Rob Smith, has worked with TOMRA’s recycling, food and mining sensor-based sorting system businesses since 2009 so was asked to put forward proposals for the corporate public relations brief. We presented our strategy at TOMRA’s offices in Dublin in competition against two other PR agencies, both with global office networks.
Commenting on Brand8 PR’s appointment, TOMRA’s vice-president head of group brand and corporate communication, Lorraine Dundon, said: “We were impressed by the clarity of Brand8 PR’s strategic thinking and the fact that it is firmly rooted in achieving our commercial and reputational objectives.
“The agency has a deep understanding of our business and has demonstrated its ability to work on our behalf globally. We are very pleased to be further developing our relationship with Brand8 PR and look forward to the agency supporting us as we continue to deliver our vision of leading the resource revolution.”
Founded in 2010, Brand8 PR provides corporate and consumer public relations and content marketing services to a diverse portfolio of businesses regionally, nationally and internationally.
Our clients include law firm Gordons; national chartered surveyor Sanderson Weatherall; UK top 20 housebuilder Avant Homes; international breastfeeding products brand Lansinoh; Edinburgh property developer Quartermile Developments; and the nation’s largest van rental company, Northgate plc.
Brand8 PR managing director, Rob Smith, said: “We’re immensely proud to have been appointed to handle TOMRA’s global corporate PR brief. It is a worldwide market leader and technology innovator that improves yields from scarce resources, enhances its customers’ profitability and benefits the global environment.
“The campaign activity we’re undertaking allows us to combine a commercial and environmental proposition. We’re liaising with organisations as diverse as the United Nations and The Economist about TOMRA’s technologies and capabilities because their benefits have the power to create a more sustainable planet.”
