Following Brand8 PR’s successful launch of the inaugural Bupa Care Home Awards, we were re-appointed by Bupa Care Services to build on the achievements of the inaugural employee engagement campaign for its care homes by providing healthcare PR activity.
The awards provide each of the business’s 27,000 employees across its 300 care homes with the opportunity to nominate a colleague to receive an award for outstanding commitment and service.
Brand8 PR worked with Bupa Care Services to evolve the awards by analysing the previous year’s online nomination and judging processes, how the awards were promoted and the awards ceremony.
The awards ceremony took place at The Arches in Glasgow and was presided over by reality star and former X-Factor contestant Rylan Clark.
Over 200 people attended the event including Bupa Care Services’ senior management team, finalists and other Bupa employees. There were ten categories with up to five finalists in each, nominated using a specifically-designed digital platform.
Bupa Care Services’ research showed that the awards were perceived as an even greater success than the previous year when they were regarded as ‘excellent’.
The revised nomination and judging processes were also considered enhanced, as well as the event format. The Bupa Care Home Awards now form a core aspect of Bupa Care Services’ employee reward and recognition activity.
“Following the success of the inaugural awards, we had no hesitation in reappointing Brand8 PR. The subsequent awards were a huge success, with our people giving them a 90 per cent ‘excellent’ rating.
“Our expectations for the following year were high, so we were extremely pleased to have them exceeded throughout the whole awards process.
“Brand8 PR helped us evolve the awards whilst simultaneously managing a complex project from start to finish. They were able to handle anything we asked of them, which gave us great peace of mind.
“The Bupa Care Home Awards are now established as Bupa Care Services’ premier employee event and we anticipate them going from strength-to-strength.”
